This new logo clip was used for the first time in the film "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" (2001). The same tune went on to be used for the theme music of the logo clip of Dharma Productions. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - The tune of this song was used as a theme in the film's background score. He wasn't explicitly credited for the tune but he was one of the individuals acknowledged before the film's opening credits. While Jugal Hansraj's tune was used in the final version of the song, his lyrics were replaced by Sameer's. He had also written the lyrics for this tune. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - The tune of this song's mukhda was composed by Jugal Hansraj. The title of this film inspired the title of "Kuch Kuch Locha Hai" (2015).The film's choreographer, Farah Khan, also appeared on screen with him in these scenes. Suparna was the name of his real-life wife and it was Advani who insisted on using her name in the dialogue. In one of the scenes, he had to say the line - "Suparna mujhe phone mat karna, mujhe koi aur mil gayi hai". Nikhil Advani, who debuted as a director in the film "Kal Ho Naa Ho" (2003), not only assisted Karan Johar in this film but also appeared in two scenes in it.

It also took a lot of convincing on Karan Johar's part to get Salman Khan on board. The role had been declined by eight actresses before Karan Johar approached Rani based on the recommendation of Aditya Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan, who had seen her in her debut film "Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat" (1996). Karan Johar had a difficult time casting for the role that was eventually played by Rani Mukherjee in this film.He changed his mind when he was encouraged by Aditya Chopra, whom Karan had assisted for the film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (1995). In fact, he wasn't really planning on making this film. Karan Johar had the story of this film ready long before he made it.This was the debut film of child actors Sana Saeed and Parzan Dastur. He was unimpressed with the script but had signed it anyway. Shah Rukh Khan had not understood the story of this film the first time Karan Johar had narrated it to him.Karan Johar then went engaged Sameer for the film but ended up using Javed Akhtar's line "Ab To Mera Dil Jaage Na Sota Hai." for the mukhda of the film's title song. In his anger, Akhtar had rattled off a line and rhetorically asked Johar if this was the kind of lyrics he wanted. The lyricist had thought that the film's title was vulgar and refused to work in it.
